Comparable products start at a much higher price point. I bought two sets for both of my paddles. I use DHS pre-assembled x4002 and x5002, the hurricane rubbers and G888 rubber on the backhand of the x4002 are among the stickiest I have ever seen providing excellent spin on the ball. The down side is that dust and other particles like to stick to the rubbers making them eventually lose their sticky properties. I usually have to wipe down the paddles after each play to take off all of the dust. I used to have to use the plastic protective sheets that came with the paddles new, which were hard to line up on the paddle as they were cut to the same shape. Eventually they got dirty and unusable; they weren't meant to be reusable. I now use this rubber protector to keep any dust from getting on the paddle when they are not in use. I don't have thick plastic sheeting and for $1.99 I don't feel too bad about purchasing this product. It works as advertised. I'm using it on my DHS X4002 and it protects the rubber from dust and debris when I'm not playing. The rubber on the X4002 is super tacky and attracts all kinds of dust so this protector is a cheap and effective solution.
