5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Paddle!, March 15, 2010
This review is from: DHS X6002 (Flaired) NEW X Series Table Tennis Racket (Misc.)
I've been playing with this racket for over 3 months now, and I just love it! The rubber on it is amazing. It came with Hurricane III (red) and Skyline II (black). I clean the rubber with a damp cloth after almost every session, and the rubber is still amazingly tacky. I can easily pick up a ball with it vertically for a second or two. I got used to the flared handle just fine, though I can't say I prefer either straight or flared. It feels good to me. I'm not a really high level player and I don't have much competition here, plus I don't have much reference beyond the starter pack butterfly paddles (the difference is obviously night and day), so I won't try to comment on how the paddle plays, but it feels perfect for me. I don't play with much spin on my loops but this rubber does help me out. It makes an interesting cracking sound in high gear, I kinda like it. I like the chemical smell ;)

I would recommend this for any intermediate player. I can't find a fault in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, August 16, 2011

While I didn't buy the racket from Amazon, I still bought it from the same vendor listed here. I had a X4002 racket which was good and with the $50 won in the office tournament I was itching to get a better racket and finally decided to buy X6002. This racket is a huge step up from the X4002, is lighter and is fantastic for defense; the expression that you see on your opponents face after you've returned a fierce smash is priceless! I used to think that other reviewers who talked about how switching to a different paddle made them better were exaggerating, boy was I wrong! With this racket, I feel great; I rely on serve, spin and defense and this racket has been fantastic so far.
There is one issue though that I didn't have with X4002, that the handle feels slippery and I fear sometimes that the racket may slip and fly away. It hasn't happened yet, but I feel it a bit slippery and I end up constantly wiping my hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good recreational racket!, July 31, 2011
This review is from: DHS X6002 (Flaired) NEW X Series Table Tennis Racket (Misc.)
I play about an hour a day in my work breakroom (5 hours a week). Had this paddle for a few months now. It is the most expensive one I have purchased so far having used Stiga store boughts before. I am very pleased with my purchase. This is an amazing paddle for the price. A ton of speed and spin make our breakroom feel too small. I use the black rubber on the backhand and red rubber on the forehand. I agree with the reviewer below that when you smash it makes an awesome cracking sound. Great value. Biggest con is that it still stinks (likely from the adhesive that could only be used in China). Any upgrade will likely be custom.
