A great value for your home's rec room or for clubs and schools, the durable outdoor Butterfly TW24B Playback Rollaway Table Tennis Table has a synthetic laminate top (SLT) that can handle rough and tough play and weather conditions. This table features a 3/4-inch wood table top, 1-1/2-inch steel railing rim, and 1-inch steel legs. The two safety levers on each table side provide an effective child safety feature. It folds into the playback and storage positions without removing the net and post, which are included. The legs are indented from the end and sides of table for unhindered footwork. It also offers large, sturdy wheels (5-inch ball bearing casters) for easy movement. It folds up to 73.5 inches high, 24.5 inches wide.

High quality, and while I'd have preferred better wheels/axles - the ones supplied work quite well. Minor complaint about opening it - you can't reach both latches from one location, so you have to release one and torque the top a little so it stays out, then release the other side.Assembly was very straightforward - it took me about 90 minutes. You definitely need 3 people when you mount the table to the support frame. And if you don't have a metric ratchet set - get one, even if it's cheap. I can't imagine how long it would have taken with just two open end wrenches. All that being said, it's a darn good thing I'm an engineer - as the instructions really, really, really leave a lot to be desired. They consist of a number of drawings, with no text. In a few places, it is *NOT* clear which way a part should be installed, and it matters. Furthermore, the hardware package is obviously a "universal" kit. I had an mountain of... It was missing a few pieces when we first got it, which was a huge bummer. Waited two weeks to get parts with the kids chomping at the bit the whole time. We've seen too many "outdoor" tables with tops that warp and crack. Good design that appears durable. Start this assembly project in your living room in a comfortble chair - reading the directions over a couple of times. Buy or borrow a 10mm socket set and 10mm wrenches. You'll go insane attemtping assembly with an adjustable wrench. For the 19mm bolts, a 3/4 socket will work fine. TAKE THE TIME to sort the bolts by length. There are 40mm, 45mm and 50mm lengths, and if you use the wrong one you will be redoing the assemby. A measuring guide is printed at the top of the directions, but note where zero is. LOOK VERY CAREFULLY at the diagrams to see if a simple nut or a nylon locking nut is called for. If you mix those up, the thing will probably disassemble itself. Have fun, but do not expect to have much energy to play the day you put this together. |
