The Optimum Seven turns the traditional seven-ply blade formula inside out. Here is a faster blade that still has outstanding balance. The center core is thinner and the outer plies thicker. Stiga's Crystal Technology hardens the surface of the blade, thus increasing its speed. The excellent result is a blade that meshes well with high-tech rubber technologies. The Optimum Seven is designed for today's aggressive players. You won't be disappointed.
This review is from: STIGA Optimum Seven Table Tennis Blade (Misc.)
This blade is very slick looking. It gets a 4/5 only because I have not attached my rubbers to it and used it yet, however I will come back and update my review when that time comes. However, I can say that upon opening up the case and having the blade in my hands, it was pretty lightweight, well balanced, and the feel of the handle was very nice.
Only complaint - On both sides of the blade there is this thin thin coat of what appears to be sanding sealant or something, it was pretty glittery so I said screw it and I put on my own coat of sealant. If manufacturers are going to put a sealant on the blade themselves, they should have to specify that in the product description! The thin coat of whatever it was did not seem like it was going to protect the wood AT ALL. Rather be safe than sorry!
But other than that the product arrived on time and in beautiful condition.
