The table is stored outside, mostly in the shade, with about 2-3 hours of sun, max. Although I live in SoCal, the temperature here rarely goes above 80 or below 40. I kept thinking I got a defective one because I could not believe how quickly it would fail, but now I will never buy another Kettler cover unless they change what it is made of. The material, which reminds me of the silver material in duct tape, starts disintegrating and tearing along the top, where a minimal amount of weight is present. The material soon becomes "crispy" and cracks, and then is worthless. Stronger, weather and UV resistant material should be used, similar to what is used successfully in the outdoors, such as awnings and boat covers. This product would not be worth it if it sold for half the price, but to pay this much money for something that fails so quickly, is a waste of money. This cover fit perfectly and I was loving it for a year..After that, the plastic cover just started to disintegrate and no longer protects the table from the weather here in Huntington Beach, Calif. It would be cheaper and last longer to make my own cover!! I normally store my table in my garage during the winter, but like to keep it outside during the summer when it gets a lot of use. Unfortunately, after a couple years of summer UV exposure (California sunshine can get pretty intense), the cover is now very fragile and is starting to rip under normal handling. The cover works well and is easy to use under normal circumstances. It doesn't seem to be designed for continuous, outdoor exposure.
