This review is from: JOOLA PROFI Recreational Table Tennis Racket (Sports)
The problem with this paddle is the handle wrapping. It's cheap - basically nothing more than a Chinese equivalent of U.S. friction tape, minus the adheasive. It is more than a distraction - it's annoying - and, thus, it fails to serve its purpose, e.g., to provide grip. Players denigrated the cheap two-ply paddles that came with our table, so we "upgraded" to this Joola Pro paddle. While it has more plywood layers, and is therefore a better paddle, the handle wrap is inconsistant with the picture.
The picture leads one to think a durable, rubberized wrap will give the player increased grip when, in fact, the wrap is a 1/2" fabric strips nailed (yes, nailed) at one end - basically designed to unravel. The Chinese may be fine table tennis players, but not with this paddle and its inferior wrapping.
Recommendation: keep shopping unless you're willing to put up with the paddle slipping in your hand as you serve, stroke or slam the ball.
