4.0 out of 5 stars suprisingly good racket!, June 12, 2010

I have several Butterfly rackets (Senshu, Carlos Chiu, Kodo, Kioshi, Naifu) so I have used a decent variety of paddle to comnpare the 401 Yuki to. I was actually looding to buy the Kenji to add to my collection, but I came across this paddle and decided to chyeck it out as it was $12 cheaper than the Kenji. Of the paddles I own, the Senshu is my favorite and it was not cheap at arounf $70. When I found this racket I was skeptical of it because of the cheap price ($35), but I decided to take a chance and order it and worst case I can use it a practice racket so I don't ding up my Senshu too bad.

The racket came in a day earlier than expected and I was pleasantly surprised. The racket uses Butterfly Yuki rubber onboth sides. My Senshu racket uses Flextra rubber and the Yuki rubber on this racket feels as sticky, though not quite a powerful as the flextra. The tape on the side of the racket is a very nicenylon ribbon material and it gives the racket a classy look. In play, the... Read more

It's written in Chinese I think. Great investment if your looking for a paddle that is well built.
Plus it comes with a case. Can't beat that.

This is the first paddle costing more than about $10 that I've ever bought. Many of my coworkers who I play with like Butterfly paddles, so I figured I would go for one of these. The well-made soft carrying case that comes with it is a nice bonus for me.

It's a very nice paddle. Significantly heavier than a cheap lightweight one, which I find helps me control it. The rubber is very sticky and soft, which gives me an amazing amount of spin and control. In particular, I am able to return smashes and execute loopy top-spin shots far better than I have ever been able to before. However, this paddle also deadens the ball in terms of speed. I really have to smash it hard to get much speed out of the ball. For me this is a good thing, since I have a lot of trouble with control with harder paddles, but some players might not like it.

Overall, I'm very happy with this paddle, but as I said I don't have a lot of experience to make good comparisons with other... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great... now I have no excuses...., January 31, 2011

This review is from: Killerspin 110-04 Jet 400 Table Tennis Racket (Sports)
This is a great upgrade from my old college racket. I purchased a ~$20 Stiga racket ages ago and have been continuing to use it much to my dismay. Slipper rubbers? Yikes. With the help of some generous family this past holiday season, I was able to purchase this racket without impacting the wallet. I have only a couple things to say about this product, all of them shining compliments.

Fantastic spin, speed, and control (when I strike the ball correctly). Although I am not by any means a competition quality player, this racket has improved my game dramatically in a few short sessions. I am no longer fighting a racket that produces lousy spin or unpredictable sponge response. Balance is fantastic for me. The mass center appears to be near the lower 1/3rd of the racket face, giving it a nice feel either defensively or offensively. Though Killerspin's website ranks this racket a 7, it appears to be plenty of speed at this point in my ability.

Pros: The... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Quality seems crappy, September 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Killerspin 110-04 Jet 400 Table Tennis Racket (Sports)
This paddle is great for adding extra spin to your game and it only took a few games to get used to the heavier weight and different response from the higher quality/thicker rubber. However, I do have a complaint about the paddle. I'm not sure if I'm just a reckless pong-er or if the paddle is actually of crappier quality because there are already pieces of the rubber coming off the paddle surface from possibly where the paddle hit the table or just flaking off from inherit crappiness. I've only been playing with the paddle for less than a month. I have been super-gluing the rubber back on where it is coming off, but for $50... I expect a little more.

UPDATE: After 6 months of using this paddle, it has finally worn out, but for a reason I didn't expect. The rubber has become far less responsive than it was when I first got the paddle and putting the same amount of spin on the ball has become increasingly more difficult. I was given a new Stigna paddle (probably a $20-30... Read more

I only had been playing for 2 years and now consider myself an intermediate player. This racket is the best racket I have ever owned. It provides great spin and control, solid feel and great quality.

I would highly recommend this racket to anyone. It has increased my skills and game to the next level.

A must buy for intermediate players...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good paddle for beginners and wallet-tight intermediate players, January 23, 2011
This review is from: Stiga Titan Table Tennis Racket (Sports)
I have used this paddle for about half a year now so I know quite a bit about it.
Starting with the blade (middle wood part). Its is a very light weight blade that is very good for those who have a relatively speedy game play, but due to this lighter blade it does not have much momentum and is therefore not for those who play a power game. Also, perhaps due to the light material of the blade, it seems that some of the power is absorbed by the paddle instead of being transferred to the ball.

For the sponge. It is a low quality sponge and has a very slow rebound time (the time it takes for the sponge to return to its original shape and depth after it has been impacted by the ball) which further goes to reducing the power of the paddle, due to the fact that if the ball hits near the same place it will not provide as much support against the ball.

For the rubber. This is a pretty good quality rubber as it provides a lot of traction against the ball to cause a... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Paddle, December 8, 2010
This review is from: Stiga Titan Table Tennis Racket (Sports)
Very good paddle. The reason why I got this paddle is because of its control. It is very lightweight and the spin is decent. The rubber is 2 milimeters thick. The price is very good.

If you are wondering, the speed is 80, the spin is 72, and the control is 82.

Great product. Shipped very fast. This racket is for defensive style of play, but I prefer more offensive style. Buy this product if you are defender. Best racket for that price.
